DETAILS ABOUT PRACTICE TESTS, LANGUAGE ORALS, TEST BYTES
Practice Tests :
Practice tests are solved in an exam atmosphere, and are further checked by the teachers and discussed in school.
The practice test marked under Extra practice in the table, is specially created and sent home so that you, as parents, do not need to spend time curating a list of questions as per the exam pattern. This is exclusively for home use, so do not send the solved version back to school. The teacher won’t be checking it.
The Unit Test has the same format, marks, timing, difficulty level as the practice tests.

Language orals :
Students are evaluated regularly through their weekly Speaking period across the entire unit. Marks are calculated based on their classroom participation.
No separate oral exams are conducted before the exam.
Test Bytes (on Walmiki) :
Test Bytes are marked as TEST - (chapter name) on Walmiki.
Test Bytes have to be solved on the day that they are assigned. They are actually that day's homework. Test Bytes will be closed when practice tests start.
These marks are consolidated as a total of ALL the Test Bytes attempted by the student over the course of the unit. There will not be a separate test conducted for the students on the exam day.
If your child has not attempted the Test Bytes yet or has missed out on some by the end of the unit, the Test Bytes of that unit cannot be reattempted once a new unit begins.
Do note, that these tests are SINGLE ATTEMPT tests. That means your child can only appear for them ONCE.
If you feel your child is not prepared, try with the quizzes named REVISE - (chapter name), till you are confident and then attempt the Test Byte.
Submissions (Subject files) : ONLY for Std. 9 and 10 :
The subject files should be complete with all worksheets + Try - a - Tests covered in school in this unit.
They should be submitted to school on the same day as that subject’s unit exam. That way, the students’ studying schedule is not disturbed and teachers can also go through for completeness and return the files before the next unit begins.
*Try - a - Tests : ONLY for Std. 9 and 10 :
Students have been solving these regularly in school, after each chapter in each subject has been completed.
Students should go through the corrected Try - a - Test, write down the missing points in different - coloured ink on their answer sheet itself for those answers where full or maximum marks have not been gained, and then file the Try - a - Tests properly in the subject files.
*Why should students spend their time on completing these files / Try - a - Tests?
When the student is studying for that particular chapter, the file presents all the notes and suggested corrections together.
This helps the student realise the mistakes done earlier and strive to not repeat them again. Isn't this exactly how improvement comes about? Learn - test - improve - repeat!
So this is not “extra and unnecessary work” but an investment toward effective studying.
